What is live

Onchain pool markets are live: creating a question, betting on Yes or No, settlement, refunds and payouts all happen through a smart contract. Mobile apps are not available; Predix runs in the browser.

Stakes and payouts

A stake is a transaction from your wallet into the contract. Each market is a pari-mutuel pool: both sides’ stakes form one pot and the winning side shares it in proportion. A payout is therefore not fixed when you bet, and a losing stake is not returned.

The contract holds the funds. The operator has no function to withdraw them, takes no fee, and cannot redirect a payout. Network transaction fees are paid by whoever sends the transaction.

Who records the outcome

The wallet that deployed a pool is the only account that can resolve or cancel its markets. There is no oracle and no automated settlement, so the recorded result is a decision by that account, whose address is shown in the app and readable onchain.

Three rules sit outside that decision. Stakes are refunded in full if a market is cancelled, if only one side was backed, or if it remains unresolved seven days after closing — the last of those runs on time alone and needs no cooperation from anyone, after which the market can no longer be resolved.

Risk

A losing stake is not returned, and a payout is not fixed at the moment you enter, since later stakes keep changing the split. The smart contract has not been reviewed by an independent security auditor; its behaviour is fixed once deployed and its bytecode can be checked on the block explorer. The service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of availability or correctness.

Whether you may lawfully use a prediction market depends on where you are, and establishing that is your own responsibility.
