What is live

Onchain pool markets are live: creating a question, betting on Yes or No, settlement, refunds and payouts all happen through a smart contract. Mobile apps are not available; Predix runs in the browser.

Stakes and payouts

A stake is a transaction from your wallet into the contract. Each market is a pari-mutuel pool: both sides’ stakes form one pot and the winning side shares it in proportion. A payout is therefore not fixed when you bet, and a losing stake is not returned.

The contract holds the funds. The operator has no function to withdraw them, takes no fee, and cannot redirect a payout. Network transaction fees are paid by whoever sends the transaction.

Outcomes are decided by one account

The wallet that deployed a pool is the only account that can resolve or cancel its markets. There is no oracle, no automated settlement and no dispute process, so betting means trusting that account to record outcomes honestly. Its address is shown in the app.

Stakes are refunded if a market is cancelled, if only one side was backed, or if it remains unresolved seven days after closing. After that deadline it can no longer be resolved at all.

Risk

The smart contract has not been audited by an independent security reviewer, and a bug in a contract can permanently lose the funds it holds. The service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of availability or correctness.

Whether you may lawfully use a prediction market depends on where you are, and establishing that is your own responsibility. Stake only what you are prepared to lose.
